I think a very high percentage of my subscribers came from the newsletter. That’s why I know that they are so smart! We will see what happens with the NL. There is strong support for keeping it going.
We will miss Rip. His newsletter was always a wonderful collection of writers like yourself. It is how I started following you. I will miss many of those writers who succinctly provided great information that I could not find elsewhere. I will try and go back through some of his old newsletters to see how I might follow others. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. May he rest in peace, 'RIP' !
Thank you or the eulogy on RIP. I, too, met him online and knew him as a magnificent contributor to common sense and rational thinking. I sent a couple articles and he published them. I was thrilled and over the years sent quite a few. some were published and he would occasionally respond with a comment. I respected his editorial choices and am forever thankful for his introducing me to Victor Davis Hanson. He also introduced me to Jim Reynolds, another articulate and expressive writer. Much appreciated. Bill Schoettler
Many thanks for this Jim. I found you via Rip like so many others. As with one of the folks above, Rip would take time to reply to simple messages from me as though we were well acquainted. He and his newsletter are missed
Thx for the note re Rip. His daughter did same. Sorry to see him go. I would fwd his letter to my friends and they became fans as well. He will be missed.
It was RIP's letter that brought me to enjoy your writing.
What I'll miss the most is that he grabbed the best articles and put them together for me so that I didn't have to search. Raising 3 children and working doesn't leave a lot of extra time. I hope his family knows how many lives he touched.
I did respond to Ashley's letter. Heaven definitely gained an angel.
Rip responded to my e-mails as if we were old friends. That's the way I felt about him. Now, I feel a significant and substantial loss. I read his e-mail offerings for a very long time -- perhaps from the beginning -- which is how I became a follower of your writings. My own writings have not been sent to anyone but my own e-mail list, but maybe now . . .
Why don’t you continue Rup’s work? I think you would be perfect. Toss in some off your own writings. Maybe I’ll even some of the 500 word blurbs I put together and stick on FB!
Many, if not most, of my subscribers and readers came from Rip’s NL. It is a pre-qualified crowd!

Bill, where will you be posting future articles? I’ve only seen them in Rip’s newsletter.

That was beautifully written Jim.

Well said, Jim.
