Not really privy to Elaine’s footwear preferences while visiting California. Protective gear may be prudent. Jim

Elaine is a character in the Seinfeld comedy series. You need to get out of your cage more often. Jerry and Elaine had once been a couple. Jerry claimed that their physical unions had always ended in bliss for both sides. Elaine disagreed while emphatically pointed in the air as she claimed, “Fake, fake, fake, fake. Fake.” It was a funny moment in the old sitcom. Did you know Jane Goodall?

Do you think we are where we are accidentally?

Some believe we (as a country) are at our “peak”, and some, particularly “old” people, who have lived long enough to have a basis for comparison, remember a time when “Business”, the private sector, administered healthcare costs as a competitive issue to attract the best and brightest young men and women as employees. Those who planned to start families, and pursue the American Dream, selected their employer based on their “healthcare plan”, and business, in turn, out-sourced administration of their healthcare programs through Blue Cross & Blue Shield, or other private, healthcare administrator.

As with most social needs where responsibility for performance depends on ‘competition’ to set standards for efficiency and excellence, Government (with no permanent responsibility for results) have proven to be consistently and dramatically inferior to “Free Market” administration - - every time!

Please examine the alternatives before opting for Socialism/Communism. There are MORE than enough examples in the world for comparison.

NYC will be a very visible test case. No matter how badly it goes — and it will go badly — the lefty press will attempt to prop it up with their normal barrage of lies, non-mentions, and half-truths. The surprise of the century will be if the commie is successful. Then what do we do? In my pattern matching world this simply does not seem possible. But I’ll wait to completely condemn until that reality becomes apparent — to everyone. Are you jumping up and down again?

No. I'm not. I'm in mourning. I see Minneapolis and Dearborn as test cases, and Detroit, Paris, Chicago, London, Sacramento, and LA getting in line. We have become so accustomed to seeing manufactured crisis as the 'natural' line to distinguish local and state responsibility, with Federal (Feral) responsibility, for awhile I was convinced there was a contest at play to see which State could come up with the most ludicrous justification for increasing the Federal Debt.

As Elaine would say: Fake, fake, fake, fake, fake.

We got out of synch on our correspondence. Sorry for the confusion.

OK - - Got it. Sorry I missed the "Elaine" Reference. Never much of a TV fan (or Seinfeld either).

I know of Jane Goodall and her work by reputation, but the avatar and tag line (one little primate, raging against the machine) were adopted as a reminder to myself not to take my opinions too seriously - - a door open to change, should new information un-do previously held beliefs no matter how firmly they were once held - -

I was encouraged by your willingness to give Mamdani a chance to prove (against VERY long odds) that he can make NYC whole and healthy - - . That comment supports a favorite 'quip' (author unknown) "Follow the man who seeks truth, Run from the man who finds it"

Still - -

It is difficult to consider a state that disregards defecation in it's city streets as 100% civilized, or believe the leader of such a state would offer his candidacy for POTUS - - Like pedophilia, I find lack of public outrage a very troubling harbinger of Western civilization's decline.

Looking forward to your next posts, and wishing you every success.
