AOC is one of the "leaders" of the Democrat Party, at least according to Sen. John Kennedy. I have hoped that Kamala would be the '28 Dem. candidate. I seriously doubt she can hold a decent press conference (even with a cooperative and sympathetic press) or stand up to an effective debater (such as Vance). But Harris isn't as effective as AOC who would do a much better job on the campaign trail. I still hope for Harris as the candidate because I think she would pretty much guarantee Vance's election. AOC is smarter and more competent.
My prediction? It will not be Kamala. May not even be Vance. He needs to pass the Apprentice job of finding and punishing fraud. If he fails there then Rubio ascends. Does not make that much difference to me. We have many competent people to choose from—men and women. Lara for President? I wouldn’t want to be near that fight. My concern is that the recent history of Harris’ campaign and her public incoherence still had her within an uncomfortably small deficit for winning the Presidency. Do we really have enough people in the electorate with the knowledge or desire to challenge the strength of AOC’s conviction?
Scott was correct four years ago when he said not to discount AOC, she’s got game. Her win would be our catastrophe.
