Thank you for this excellent clarification of the article. It definitely expanded the various necessary components to raising mentally healthy children. We’ve discussed the question of what replaces what religion once taught, but hadn’t thought about what the expectations of the community taught or expectations of parents. Unfortunately, parents often don’t know what those expectations are for themselves. How do we teach children to care about others when parents don’t? The point that corporations took over the training of our children makes perfect sense. As a grandparent, I’m trying to maintain the values I grew up with and promote them to my grandchildren. It’s a tough road.
