Gary Barnhill, Captain, USAF, with a Republic F-105
Gary and his buddies did it. I just write about it. The Viet Nam conflict was totally botched by the Democrats. They put our best and brightest unnecessarily in harms's way. The constant leaking to the enemy was real.
It is still a catchy song. Just picked up an alternative interpretation. Life is layered that way.
Thank you Jim and thank you Gary. When I hear "Downtown " from now on it will have a much deeper meaning.
Thanks for the story, Jim. And Gary, thank you for your service.
